EVERYDAY STORIES OF OUR PRESENT AGE

Toxic Times

In "Toxic Times," we will be archiving the everyday stories of encountering the toxicities of our present age. You may interpret the term "toxic" in whatever way you feel is applicable, as either a material reality or a metaphorical description. This channel will highlight creative and multimodal engagements with toxicity. The responses are designed to offer a more conversational complement to our site's more formal features and content. If you are interested in contributing, you might begin by asking yourself a direct question, such as, "What is something that I have done or faced in the last week that is, indirectly or directly, shaped by the growing presence of toxic chemicals, attitudes, or reactions?" For reference, this channel is inspired by Emily Raboteau's This Is How We Live Now, a year of very brief entries that reflect on the lived realities of climate change.
